South Vigorous is a winner of eight Graded (Jpn) Stakes on dirt including the JBC Sprint. He recorded six consecutive Graded (Jpn) stakes wins from March 2002 to June 2003.
South Vigorous entered stud in Japan in 2004. His progeny inherited their great speed from his sire and runs really well in sprinting races on dirt, but in 2017 Higashi Will Win captured the Japan Dirt Derby over 2000 meters, showing staying power and awarded 2017 NAR Horse of the Year. Among his other best progeny are Grade 3 winner Namura Titan, two-time NAR Horse of the Year Love Michan, and the 2015 JBC Sprint winner Corin Berry. He died in 2018 at the age of 22.
