Harbinger was born in 2006. He is by Dansili out of Penang Pearl by Bering.
Harbinger smashed the course record to take the Group 1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes by a race record of 11 lengths and was rated 135 as the best horse in the 2010 World Thoroughbred Rankings. He is one of the most promising sons of a proven sire Dansili, the sire of Arc winner Rail Link and five-time Group 1 winner Flintshire.
Harbinger entered stud in Japan in 2011.
In 2017 Persian Knight edged out a victory in the Grade 1 Mile Championship on Nov. 19 and became third Grade 1 winner for his sire in the space of only five weeks following Deirdre in the Grade 1 Shuka Sho and Mozu Katchan in the Grade 1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup.
In 2018 Blast Onepiece captured the Grade 3 Mainichi Hai, and He's in Love won the Grade 3 Lord Derby Challenge Trophy. Among his other best progeny are Grade 3 winners Beruf, Dreadnoughtus, and Prophet.
He was crowned Japanese Champion Freshman Sire in 2014.
